Despite Mina’s scoring surge firing nine markers, Joe Ada powered Mix Blood in the first quarter with his 11 points to establish the lead.
Eli Aughenbaugh picked up where Ada left off pouring in six of his 12 points to keep the distance towards the end of the second period.
Paul Quizon, Ian Benavente and Aaron Agtarap surged in the third quarter as they worked together in the offense to help NVM bounce back.
Mina rampaged in the fourth quarter and Benavente added seven of his 15 points including a pair of free throws to protect NVM’s lead.
Ada two three-point shots to keep close but Mina’s continues surge pulled NVM away to secure the win.
QQ Rent-A-Car 71, Contractor 58
Kermit Concepcion surged to 11 points in the second half leading QQ Rent-A-Car to beat the Contractors, 71-58.
Concepcion and Budz Camacho controlled the offense in the opening period and secured a three-point lead.
Marlon Sison picked up where Concepcion left off firing eight his 11 points in the second quarter. QQ also carried out a stiff defense in the period curbing the Contractors score to nine points, with only Musca and Hector Sevilla basketing in a lopsided play.
Camacho added eight points and Jerry Mabini chipped in five points in the second half and QQ Rent-A-Car did not trail all the way to the ball game.
