MP United Football Club extended their win streak to three after trouncing Shirley’s Football Club, 8-1, in the U12 boys division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2025 at the NMI Soccer Training Center on Saturday.
MPU’s Jose Tenorio and Evan Poole were the standout players of the match, causing chaos early in the opening half.
It took only a few minutes for the dynamic duo to set the pace, using their quickness and ball control to slip past defenders. Tenorio struck first in the 5th minute, and Poole added his contribution just two minutes later.
The pair kept the pressure on SFC over the next 10 minutes, with Poole breaking through to fire another uncontested shot in the 16th minute, and Tenorio adding his second goal just a minute later to extend the lead to 4-0.
In the 20th minute, SFC managed to shift the momentum with a quick transition, catching MPU off guard and allowing Izaiah Haro to slip a shot past the goalkeeper, cutting the lead to 4-1.
However, their time in the spotlight was short-lived, as Tenorio and Poole responded with goals in the 21st and 24th minutes, earning a hat-trick and widening MPU’s lead.
While SFC failed to score in the second half, the rest of MPU’s roster had the chance to contribute, with Beau Bauer and Nyke Cho each netting a goal to seal the deal, 8-1.
Winner’s circle
Joining the winner’s circle were Matansa Football Club, which silenced Paire Football Club, 4-0; and Kanoa Football Club 1, which defeated Kanoa Football Club 2, 4-1.
