With a time of only 2:38:28, Team Ngardmau Waterfall cruised their way to the finish line in synchrony leaving the three other paddling teams that joined the 500 meter canoe sprint race in astonishment. Following their lead was the Palau Community College (PCC) second team, Team PCC H2N2 with a time of 2:48:27 to get second place, while team Double Shot – All in came in third, clocked at 2:48:89. Coming in fourth place is another PCC team, Team PCC H1N1 with 2:53:78.
As crowd favorites, team Waterfall once again displayed their timing and accuracy as a team of paddlers when they came in first place once more on the 1000 meter sprints with a time of only 5:44:00 while being trailed by team PCC H1N1 who finished the course with 6:22:12 to grab second place. Winning third is Double Shot – All in time of 6:35:00 followed by PCC H2N2 with 6:35:17.
For the women’s division 500 meter sprints, Team Ice Cream, who are composed mostly of young paddlers, strongly finished first with a time of 3:14:38 pursued by another up and rising juvenile paddlers, Choco Chips, who crossed the finish line with a time of 3:18:93 to get second place. Team 39ers came in as third place whereas Team Fintobi gets to settle as fourth place with their time as 3:19:76 and 3:21:71, respectively.
In the 1000 meter sprints still on women’s class, young team Choco Chips who thrust their way towards the finish line with a time of 6:49:80 grabbed first place, whereas team PCC Sea squid placed second with a time of 6:58:40. As for third, Team Ice Cream paddled for 7:06:85 tracked by Team FinTobi who got forth at a time of 7:18:75.
Six women team, Team Fintobi, Team Ice Cream, Team Chocolate Chips, Team PCC Sea Squid, Team 39ers, and Team Morech er Kau signed for the women’s 1000m and 500m sprints, while Team PCC H1N1, PCC H2N2, Team Ngardmau Waterfall, and Team Double Shot – All in joined the men’s 1000 and 500 meter sprint competition.
