The game started at around 11 am in Saipan time and lasted for 2 ½ hours, according to District Administrator James Ada.
After celebrating from their victory, the Senior Leaguers will return to Saipan on Monday at 1:40 am. From Indonesia, the players will first have to travel through the Philippines and Japan before returning on island.
Ada stated that the Senior Division’s win will guarantee them an opportunity to represent the CNMI at the Little League World Series in Bangor, Maine. There, they will be playing at the Shawn T. Mansfield Stadium from August 15 to August 21. The trip will be fully funded by Little League International.
After recuperating from the regional championship in Indonesia, the Senior Leaguers plan to depart at least three days prior to the competition in Maine, where they will have to stop by Japan and Detroit before reaching their final destination.
This was the third time that the CNMI won the Asian Pacific Regional Baseball Tournament, with the first two dating back in 2004 and 2007.
