The Pacific Games Council’s general assembly will be held on August of this year in New Caledonia with Le Meridien hotel as the main venue as well as that of the Olympic Committees of Oceania in March 2011.
The final 27 sports have been confirmed for the 2011 Pacific Games to be held in New Caledonia. There are to be 12 compulsory sports and 15 optional to meet the 27 confirmed sports. The 12 compulsory sports are: Athletics, basketball, Football, Golf, Rugby 7, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Va’a, Volleyball- Beach, Volleyball – Indoor, and Weightlifting. The 15 optional sports are: Archery, Badminton, Baseball, Bodybuilding, Boxing, Cricket, Judo, Karate, Power lifting, Sailing, Shooting, Squash, Surfing, Taekwondo, and Triathlon.
