The competition was thrown back and forth throughout the entire game as Konflikt tied with the Ol Aces during the first quarter, gaining the lead by one point during the second quarter, losing the gain in the third quarter and finally shutting the Ol Aces out by a jump shot from Ivan De Vero in the last quarter.
Team Captain Elmer Esrelon led his team with extreme care in the first quarter connecting shy shots for 7 points. The rest of his cavalry made bold steps in the quarter contributing the other 12 points.
The Ol Aces answered to this calling. Freddie Peliseman garnered 8 points alone in the first ten minutes of the game and moved on to score 21 points throughout the entire competition. Teammate Trevor Ogumoro connected to the basket for 5 points ending the first quarter with a three pointer shot to tie with team Konflikt, 19-19.
Team Konflikt refused to stand equal with their foes stepped it up a level upon entering the second quarter. Konflikt’s Melvin Capalad took bold attempts at the basket and after a couple of missed shots he was able to contribute his six pence while the other teammate pulled extreme efforts to surpass the defense barriers made by the Ol Aces.
By half time, team IP&E Konflikt managed to stay on top of the game and was ahead by a shaky point, 34-33.
The Ol Aces refused to go down without a fight of any kind and pulled their efforts together in the third quarter. Peliseman fended off another 6 points for the Ol Aces while he helped his teammates scored the rest of the points to snatch the lead right under team Konflikt, 50-46.
Both teams anticipated the last quarter and Konflikt prevailed by a bold jump shot attempted by team player Ivan De Vero who sealed the last quarter garnering the lead and the win of the game. But De Vero would not have made this possible if it were not for Team Captain Elmer Esdrelon who was on fire in the last three minutes of the game.
Esdrelon was on a roll after achieving a three pointer shot. Esdrelon then reinforced his message of victory with three successful jump shots in a row right after. Team Konflikt handed the upset of the game to the Ol Aces, 62-60.
