OLD B Bank avoided defeat last week thanks to a clutch performance by Lin Xiao Feng, who scored a late equalizer in the 62nd minute to draw 1-1 against Hana Football Club and maintain the team’s hold on second place in the Marianas Soccer League 2 Spring 2025 standings.
Hana, which is in overall third place, played aggressively in the early minutes of the first half, but Old B Bank managed to withstood the assault.
However, as the match progressed, they were eventually worn down by the endless forward pressure that allowed Hana’s Chong Koo Gil to score in the 15th minute.
Old B Bank struggled to break through Hana’s line of defense throughout the remainder of the first half.
The halftime break, however, rejuvenated Old B Bank. This time, they played the role of the aggressor, controlling most of the possession with long overhead passes to get behind the defense and create several scoring opportunities.
Hana went toe-to-toe with Old B Bank for most of the match, but in the 62nd minute, Old B Bank gained the upper hand by turning defense into offense and finding Lin Xiao Feng on the frontline, where he scored the team’s first goal to tie the game, 1-1.
With little time remaining, neither side could find a clear shot and had to settle for a draw.
Winner, too
Sharing the spotlight was Paire Football Club, as David Whitfield connected on a game-winning goal in the 63rd minute to defeat Bangladesh Football Club, 1-0.
