Canoe sprint races takes stage this Saturday, 17th of July. The event has no registration fees to enter, it will have categories such as the 500m, 1500m, and long distance race that is open for both male and female division with a crew of 8.
Registration begins at around 7 A.M. at Meyuns ramp while the debriefing of teams is at 7:45, the first heat kicks off at exactly 8 A.M.
OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS: the 24th of July will be the last day for Recreational Paddlers activity; all canoes will be refurbished and ready for the Micronesian Games. Also, the Canoe Association of Palau (CAP) is looking for any interested person to Volunteer or help officiate the Canoe Race – please call 488-4367 or 775-7662.
As for Upcoming races for CAP, Aug 5-7 are the dates for the canoe races regarding Micronesian Games, then on Oct 22-24, the Micronesian Cup is at stake which also be held here on the island.
