Paire FC, MP United to collide in Futsal finals

Their championship match is set for tomorrow, 12 p.m. at Marianas High School’s gymnasium.

Paire FC routed Independent Football Club A2 in a blow out game, winning 8-0. PFC tallied three goals in the first half, and five in the second with help from Amber Roberts and Rebecca Shroeder.

In a 1 p.m. game, MP United outran IFC A1 3-1. Carrie Schuler scored MP United’s first point, followed by a second goal 17 minutes in the first half.

IFC – despite their close calls – remained pointless in the opening 20 minutes. Lindsey Davis scored IFC’s first and last goal in the second half. Natalie Hill marked MP United’s third point.

PFC A, MP United A, IFC A1, and IFC2 are currently in the Futsal League’s A-category (competitive). B-league (recreational) teams will also have their championship game tomorrow.

In an 8 a.m. match last Saturday, Paire Football Club B defeated MP United B2 6-2. Mary Gramlich notched Paire’s first two points in the first half.

Sonal Baiic and Leanne Loan scored an additional two points eight minutes later. Paire’s Roxy Lamar and Linda Anastacio finished off with two more points in the 30 and 35th minute.

MP United settled for two goals – one from Fedora Camacho, and another from Jennifer Backhaus.

In another match, Matansa FC’s 18-and-under squad edged Marianas High School by a penalty kick. Matansa’s PK was all it needed to break their 1-1 tie.

At an 11 a.m. game, Shirley’s Football Club crushed another Matansa team 4-2 with Irish Pagarao as its top scorer. Tan Holdings Football Club triumphed over MP United B1 two hours later.

Paire FC B will take on Matansa (18U) in tomorrow’s playoffs at 8 a.m. Shirley’s FC will face Tan Holdings FC at 9 a.m. Winners from both games will advance to the B-league’s finals round with the losers dueling for third and fourth place.
