A bright, sunny afternoon greeted Paire FC at the Oleai soccer field as Zhi Peng Lin scored its first goal in the 18th minute.
Independent Football Club responded with a goal attempt, but came short in both the first and second halves. Paire FC improved its one-point lead with one goal apiece from Yong Park (49th minute) and Colin Fruit (55th minute).
In an earlier game, MP United’s star player Jin Han Yoon tallied three goals — one in the first half and two in the second — to edge Matansa. Yoon’s teammate So Hyuk Park drew first blood with an early goal in the 13th minute.
Matansa’s Ichitaro Faisao and Brandon Camacho quickly tied the game, 2-2.
Park lodged his second point in the 65th minute to lift MP United, 4-3. Dae Min Jeon’s late-game kick secured the team’s win 15 minutes later.
Paire, Matansa triumph in boys 15U
In the boys 15U division, Paire dominated Shirley’s FC, 5-0 and Matansa led, 7-2 to beat Tan Holdings Football Club at the Commonwealth Ports Authority Field.
Paire took a 1-0 lead from Sang Pil Cheon’s goal in the first half. Brian Lee followed with another point, with consecutive attacks from Billy Hinson, David Yang, and Ethan Dickinson.
David Bucayo scored four of Matansa’s goals while Sean Perez tallied two, and Jirech Yobech added one to outrun Tan Holdings FC in an earlier game.
THFC’s Kenneth Domingo and Abundo Besenio got away with one point each in the second half.
MP United, Paire crush Tan Holdings, Matansa in girls 15U
Competition blazed on at Hopwood Junior High School as MP United outgunned Tan Holdings FC, 3-0 and Paire FC edged Matansa, 1-0 in the girls 15U category.
MP United’s Seoung Hyun Lee gathered two points while Gabrielle Race bagged one in the first half.
THFC — unable to recover — scored no goals, leaving the game in MP United’s favor.
Paire Football Club launched its only goal from Mikaela Duenas’ early-game rush.
