An evenly matched offense pushed both teams back and forth earlier in the second half, with scores tied at 3-3. IFC thrived on an own-goal for their third point.
Marianas High School student Alodia Lumasag led Tan Holdings with three straight goals – two in the first half (7th and 15th minute) and another in the second (60th minute). Farah Chan intercepted the ball from IFC’s Kiri Thosa, but lost it to Samantha Birmingham.
Perry soon found an opening and rallied past Tan Holdings’ goalie Liezel Tiples.
On Friday, Paire Football Club crushed Matansa FC with a 3-0 win. Paire’s offense proved superior in the first half, with goals from Amber Roberts (14th minute), Zoe Jewell (20th minute), and Patty Coleman (31st minute).
MP United defeated Shirley’s Football Club, 4-0 in a following game. Natalie scored in the 15th and 38th minutes, followed by Carrie Knight in the second half. MP United bagged its fourth point via own-goal, leaving Shirley’s unable to recover.
Men’s tournament continues
The 2011 Men’s Football Tournament continued this week, with Sky Football Club beating Shirley’s FC at the Oleai soccer field on Tuesday.
Sky FC finished its foes with a 7-0 victory, scoring two goals in the first half and five more in the second. Minjong Choi posted his first goal two minutes into the game. Ji Hyun Lee connected Sky’s second goal 10 minutes later. Soo Hyun Lim and Min Woo Kim tallied two points apiece. Sung Ho Kang added one goal in the 80th minute.
Last Sunday, Tan Holdings FC defeated Independent FC, 3-1. MP United – Grey also triumphed, 3-0 over Wild Bill’s.
