THE Pirates continue to hold a steady pace in the 2nd Annual Summer T-Ball League 2025 after securing their second win of the season by outlasting the Comets, 23-22, Sunday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
It was a high-scoring game, as both teams filled all three innings with nonstop action.
The Comets entered the top of the opening inning hungry, serving up a flurry of hits that turned into RBIs. Led by Kyrie Tenorio, Asher Villagomez, Kyle Aldan, and the rest of the batting lineup, they mustered eight runs to take the early lead.
In the bottom half, the Pirates responded in kind. Hit after hit, the bases quickly filled, with half the roster earning RBIs for a total of nine runs to snatch the lead, 9-8.
The back-and-forth battle continued through the next two innings.
The Comets added seven more runs in the top of the second inning, but the Pirates answered with seven runs to maintain the upper hand, 16-15.
In the third and final inning, the Comets attempted to run away with the win, rallying for another seven runs. But despite their efforts, they couldn’t hold the lead on defense, as the Pirates mirrored their output with seven runs to seal the walk-off victory, 23-22.
Joining the winner’s circle were the Padres, who outscored the Mariners, 18-11, while the Blue Jays powered past the Athletics, 27-14.
