Running a strong defensive man to man against the Lady Cardinals was a great move as the PMA lady basketeers were able to grab the lead in the first quarter of the match and never looked back to capture this year’s crown. The two stellar stalwarts, Colleen Gibbons and Esichang “Essy” Ubedei led the charge for PMA as they got 19 and 17 total points, respectively.A great double celebration indeed for Esichang Ubedei as it was also her birthday that same day.
Lady Cardinals did put up a gallant fight when they were able to slice the lead of their opponent to just eight entering the fourth canto courtesy of Oreng Ngemaes 20 points output all throughout the match. However, the dynamic duo, Gibbons and Essy, worked their offence once more with their other team mates putting up a 17 – 7 run in the last period to finally shut down the hopes for MHS at a score of 53 – 32 at the buzzer.
