Rose Phillips told Variety in an e-mail yesterday that pool players on the Saipan will have the chance compete in three different tournaments every week.
The games on Mondays are 8-ball “Pool Challenge”, where winners can pocket the money and hold the table. With a charge of $1 per game, the only as few as five challengers can play.
The Tuesday tournament features a single elimination 9-ball with $5 dollar entry fee, and the first competitor to win three games advances in the bracket.
Players under “A” bracket, as determined by management, will have to win four games to advance.
On Wednesdays the game will be a double elimination 8-ball. Here, players have at least two chances to advance for only $5.
The starting time for all the games will at 8:00 p.m., with happy hour prices for players and spectators until 2:00 am.
Phillips added that the USSP Bar is now open from 7:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. every night, with live music from Tuesday through Sunday.
The USSP, she said is also looking for head-to-head competition with other establishments.
Bar owners can call anytime after 7:30 pm to discuss days, number of players and other details.
