As president of the Palau National Olympic Committee, Frank Kyota, introduced the teams, their coaches and mentors of each federations while chairman of Team Palau Senator Regis Akitaya showed his enthusiasm in extending the good news that the whole leaders of Palau and the community supporting the efforts of the team, President Toribiong concentrated on informing athletes to have a big heart as the games of the 2010 Micronesian Games is fast approaching.
The President pointed out the importance of practice and training that will enhance the chance of each competitive team to gain the ultimate goal of all which he calls as the “Ecstacy of Winning. He even gave examples of this which he himself experienced in his younger years having championship belts of his own.
As a conclusion, the Head of the Republic restated and recapped that each team, each federation should be willing and determined to do their part as “Ambassadors of the Playing Fields” for team Palau and to have that understanding that win or lose athletes have given their 110% while the community and leaders of the island is backing them up all the way.
