PRIORITY CARE bagged a spot in the finals of the 2023 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League by eliminating Marpac, 73-60, at the Ada gym on Thursday.

Priority Care had it all figured out right from the start as they shut down Marpac’s main scorers. Led by Steve King and Matthew Duenas, Priority Care took advantage of Marpac’s missed possessions by delivering points on the other end to seize the lead in the opening quarter, 14-7.

In the second quarter, Priority Care started to get more comfortable as their lead grew. However,  they also started to rush their offense and take lower percentage shots.

Marpac responded with three-pointers courtesy of Jeff Castro and Greg Sablan. But their rally was short-lived as Priority Care slowed down the pace with Ramon Agulto and King at the frontline to regain a double-digit distance, 37-26.

Marpac’s biggest run came during the third quarter. Coby Santos, who struggled to find the bottom of the net in the first half, found his second wind as he took the spotlight with 14 points to cut Priority Care’s lead, 46-52.

But Marpac faltered in the fourth and final quarter while Priority Care picked up where they left off with Duenas at the helm, leading his team to victory, 73-60, with six points and several assists and rebounds.

Priority Care will now face PSS in the finals.
