IN a showdown between medical teams, Priority Care cruised past CHCC, 97-58, in the 2024 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Federallys, for their part, outlasted DFEMS, 67-66.

Against Priority Care, CHCC relied on Kevin Leomo and James Phillips’ ability to finish near the rim as they stood at the frontline of the offensive end with six points each.

Priority Care excelled on both ends as they turned each defensive stop into a made bucket as Bryce Maratita cleaned up the mess with second-chance shots while Matthew Duenas added extra range with two triples to seize the lead, 24-17.

Leomo fell into foul trouble early and was forced to sit down throughout most of the second period.

As for Priority Care, they continued to build momentum as Steve King contributed 15 points to push a double-digit advantage, 50-26.

In the third quarter, CHCC managed to resync with Leomo and Phillips picking up where they left off while teammates Jayson Mariano and Sean Apasan, coming off the bench, scored a couple of buckets. However, Priority Care had an answer for each CHCC shot to maintain the comfortable distance, 65-46.

Although CHCC maintained efficiency in the fourth and final 10 minutes of the game, they were still outshined by Priority Care as Yoshi Mufnas, Jeffrey Omar, Justice Aldan and Alfred Manglona combined for 20 points to secure the victory, 97-58.
