PSS outhustled Docomo, 70-64, in the 2024 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Saturday.

It was a fairly even matchup with several lead exchanges throughout the opening quarter.

PSS constantly worked the inside game and drew countless fouls to gain points from the charity line while Docomo relied on their scorers, Shane Deleon Guerrero and Anthony Diaz, to end the quarter in a 15-15 deadlock.

In the second period, Docomo started to gain the upper hand as Diaz remained the biggest offensive threat, putting up 10 points while teammates Donnovan Santos and Deleon Guerrero chipped in their fair share.

The third quarter continued to favor Docomo as Deleon Guerrero found his second wind and picked up the offensive pace with a handful of strong finishes at the rim to keep the team afloat, 50-44.

However, Docomo suddenly lost control in the fourth and final quarter.

As Deleon Guerrero and Diaz started to show signs of fatigue, PSS capitalized with constant pressure on both ends of the court. Mi’i Tekopua thrived with each defensive stop and strong finishes at the rim, scoring seven straight points to close the gap.

Docomo tried to maintain the lead but eventually lost their grip as PSS’ Preston Basa found his range, sending back-to-back triples along with four points from the charity line to secure the win for his team, 70-64.

Joining the winner’s circle was Coca Cola, which defeated DFEMS, 70-60.
