PSS earned their seventh win of the season by outlasting CPA, 78-75, in the 2024 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Saturday.

Both teams started as equals as buckets were traded throughout the opening quarter.

Melvin Sakisat powered PSS with 11 of 13 team points scored while CPA answered with teamwork led by Brandon Lieto and Donovan Brennan for the first deadlock of the game, 13-13.

In the second half, CPA took over the reins as Frank Robert and Elton Hofschneider joined the fray with Lieto and Brennan doubling their offensive production and widening their team’s lead, 34-27.

However, PSS recovered with a textbook comeback in the third period.

Sakisat picked up where he left off with back-to-back buckets while Mi’i Tekopua delivered 10 points to give PSS the upper hand, 54-52.

Throughout the final quarter, CPA fought back with Brennan and Greg Deleon Guerrero at the frontline, looking to close the distance. But PSS managed to stay afloat thanks to the clutch performance of Preston Basa, who scored 13 points, including three treys, along with Tekopua’s daggering finishes to triumph, 78-73.
