After losing Game 3 over the weekend, the Rock Steady sluggers came back as they managed to keep the lead, 8-3 into the ninth inning before darkness prompted the umpires to discontinue the game.
Rocky Steady and Ford Rangers will continue the last inning at 6 p.m., today at the Francisco M. Palacios, then, proceed to the final game of the SML’s 2008 championship series that was prolonged by power outages and bad weather.
After the SML playoffs that ended earlier this month, each championship game was stretched to two or three days due to unscheduled power outages.
Ford Rangers clinched into championship series after beating defending champions, Falcons during the playoffs.
The Ford Rangers got the first win outrunning Rock Steady, 15-10 in Game 1.
Rocky Steady however, tied when Ford Rangers lacked one player in Game 2 and lost by forfeit.
In Game 3, Jesus Iguel and Robert Banzil hit run-scoring singles to lead Ford Rangers’ winning rally against Rock Steady.
Rocky Steady was carrying out its sweet revenge in Game 4 with most of the team’s sluggers batting it out for run-scoring hits from the first inning all the way to the eighth when the power went out.
