Participants are allowed to bring any amount of spearguns. Using hooks and lines will result in disqualification, and each team must have a dive flag. Fishing zone will stretch from Agingan Point to the Managaha main channel.

Target species include Sweetlips, Groupers, Humback Snappers, Rudderfish, Spadefish, Barracuda, White Tuna, BlackSnapper, Giant Surgeonfish, Silverjaw, Mackerels, Giatn Triggerfish, Flametail or Onespot Snappers, Unicornfish of any time, Pampano, and Wrasse.

Red Snapper (Tagafi) Sharks, Sting Rays, Eels, Balloonfish, any aquarium fish, Stonefish, Crocodilefish, Needlefish, Trumpetfish, and Butterflyfish will not qualify.

Divers are not allowed to fish near scuba boats unless they got there first. This year’s competition is dedicated to one of MASC’s fellow divers, Jesus Manuel N. Castro. The event is open to all divers, according to MASC acting vice president Felix Sasamoto.
