G-Stars took the winning momentum early into the game as G-Stars’ Christian De-Vero collared 8 points swiftly for his team yanking a secure 7 point lead over his opponent while Savali Talalemotu was only able to bag 6 points for Rollers I. De Vero scored 22 points over all while Talalemotu fended off 23 points impressively.
Marvin Rabauliman jumped into the wagon and chalked up another 6 points for the G-Stars winning the approval of the crowd. Erick Cepeda answered that challenge by tallying 6 points of his own yet that was not enough to snatch the lead as the gap was widened to a spacious 8 points.
By the second half of the game, De Vero came back onto the court well rested and ready to go. He was then able to collar another 8 points for his team widening the gap to a gargantuan 11 point lead.
Rollers I had, had enough of this and pulled a herculean effort to close that gap and win. They finally got their acts together as Coach Joe Diaz devised cunning offense plays for his team. Savali Talalemotu was given the ball repeatedly and he utilized his height to gain 8 points while his teammate Jon Cenir used his ball handling techniques to clock in 8 points and 1 charity.
What made the game enticing was when Talalemotu scored a jump shot to tie the game at 53 points all. With less than a minute remaining in the game, Rollers called a time-out to devise a plan on how they were to beat the already tired G-Stars, the ball was then tossed to John Paulo Darag who sunk a three pointer in causing the Rollers I to win Rotary’s debut game.
