Rota Little League opens

THE Rota Little League Baseball season commenced last weekend with the Department of Public Works Bulldozer defeating the 9th Rota Municipal Council Matuas 16-4 in the opening game in Rota.

An opening ceremony was held prior to the contest. Rota High School JROTC cadets presented the colors and pledge of allegiance. Rota Mayor Benjamin T. Manglona delivered the opening remarks and the opening pitch.. Rep. Jose Terlaje was the catcher. Manglona struck out Rota Little League Coordinator Crispin Ogo to begin the season.

The Bulldozers are managed by Michael B. Manglona and coached by Roddy Manglona. The Matuas are managed by Melinton Subediang and coached by Walter “Snoopy” Manglona.

Umpires Bonabe Maratita and Jose Rosario called the game.

The Luta Major League will open its season April 24, according to Ogo. Because of negotiation with Seabridge, Luta Major League is now Seabridge Major League of Luta. There were four teams last year when the league opened for the first time.
