Rotary caging crown up for grabs

The men’s national team came up last year for the 7th FIBA- Oceania Youth Basketball Tournament in Guam and since the players are in the same age bracket as in the Rotary caging, they were eligible to join the local tournament.

Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands president, Elias Rangamar said the Junior Nationals who had just played in this year’s Oceania caging a few months ago are preparing for another big basketball event, thus, allowing the other local teams to go for the title they won against the G-Rollers I last year.

There are national team members who can’t set aside basketball are playing with some of the teams.

Hi-5 that has not played for two years is coming back while a new squad—The Celtics, is coming on board.

The regular teams that have signed up again for this year’s Rotary Club basketball are last year’s runner up, G-Rollers I, the G-Rollers 2, G-Rollers 3, Sixers, Sonics, G-Stars, Ol Aces, Kagman, As Matuis and CK Saints.

The games will be from Monday to Friday, and starts at 5 p.m., to 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Rangamar is calling again on coaches and team managers for Rotary and Inter-government/business basketball tournaments to attend a meeting on Monday, Aug. 3 at 1:30 p.m., at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym conference room.
