Palau’s chapter of this community service organization which is the world’s first and largest community service organization celebrated its 14th year as a chartered non-profit organization this past November.
As the club resumes their unending help to the community, they lined up series of programs anew. The coming year’s projects include continuing with literacy promotion projects throughout elementary schools in Palau, providing sleeper beds for the Belau National Hospital, funding a handicap-accessible minivan to help transport children to various after-school programs in conjunction with Seeds of Promise Palau, and maintaining various children’s parks and playgrounds throughout Koror and in Melekeok. The Rotary Club of Palau meets every Wednesday at noon at The Penthouse Hotel in downtown Koror, and anyone is welcome to attend as a guest, or to consider joining the world’s first and largest community service organization, or to volunteer with its many projects. For further information, visit the Rotary International website at www.rotary.org., or call the Penthouse Hotel at 680-488-1941 for further details on the club’s meeting date and time.
