The Northern Marianas Islands Football Association moved their competitions last Saturday to the airport soccer field in Dan Dan so as not to interrupt their schedule.
“We’re currently looking for a new venue while the Ada gym is on lock down. We have all the necessary equipment to continue the games and we have already considered a few venues around the Ada complex but we have yet to meet and discuss what will happen. Hopefully we will be able to get everything up and running by this week since we are running late based on the original schedule that was made.” rotary youth basketball league coordinator Abner Venus said in an interview with the Variety.
“We hope that the participants along with their coaches remain patient with us. We know that this situation is very inconvenient but we are doing everything we can to speed things up” added Venus.
Most of the community members who used to use the facilities of the Ada gym was seen running in the pathway of Micro beach last Sunday afternoon. “We really hope that the government sees that the Ada gym does not need to be shut down. We use it every day to stay healthy and some of us use the facility to stay away from deathly situations like heart attacks and diabetes” added a group of soccer players taking a quick break from their football game in the open field of Micro Beach located near the bell tower.
Some of the players have been practicing at Garapan court, Susupe court, and the Civic Center court to practice and prepare for when the Rotary games will start up again.
