Nick Sablan who grossed 75 in the recently held Tournament of the Champions three weeks ago, netted 68. He wasn’t the lowest grosser, but first placer, Luis Byun who shot 66 net was already the January Ace of the Month.
A similar case gave Sablan the victory for monthly ace on Sunday.
He had a gross of 78 and finished with a net of 74, firing 5-over par 41 in the front nine and struggled in the back with 9-over par 45.
Since the top two players who beat his net on Sunday are already aces of the month, Sablan who finished fourth took this month’s ace title.
Manny Mangarero the July Ace of the Month topped the tournament firing 6-over par 79 and netted 67.
Jordan Kosam, the June Ace of the month struggled in the front nine firing 8-over par 44 but recovered a little bit in the back nine hitting 7-over par 43 to gross 87 and net 68.
Tars Olopai netted 70 as fired 3-over part 39 in the front nine.
Thirteen-year-old Jay Choi, the youngest member of RGA, won the closest to pin in hole No. 4 and Sablan in hole No. 15.
RGA welcomes the newest members, Fasulu Tigilao and Brett Nelson.
The other RGA’s Aces of the Month are Luis Byun who netted 66 for the month of January; Asterio Tawanpiy, 65 for February; Jess Wabol 67, for March; Dick Pierce 62, for April; Joe Demapan 65 for May, Jordan Kosam 64 for June and Manny Mangarero, 64 for July.
Jess I. Wabol is reminding all the monthly Aces that they are required to participate in at least six RGA-sanctioned events in order to qualify for the championship.
