SAE Hee Kim seized the spotlight this month by finishing first in the CNMI Women’s Golf Association July tournament with a net score of 66 at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course on Saturday.
Kim started strong and gradually improved her game throughout the day.
On the front nine, Kim avoided several bogeys to position herself at the frontline with a gross of 42. The back nine was where she solidified her place at the top, sinking a few crucial birdies to balance her errors and notch a gross of 36.
With a combined gross of 78, Kim already stood first in the line, but her 12 handicap propelled her further ahead with a net score of 66.
In second place was Dol Yamagishi. Showcasing consistency throughout the day, she shot a gross of 47 on the front and back nines for a total gross score of 94. Sporting a handicap of 24, her net score was 70.
Coming in third was Sunny Hyun. She shot a gross of 44 on the front nine and slightly improved her swing on the back nine with a gross of 41 for a combined gross of 85. Aided by a handicap of 14, her net score was 71.
