SAE Hee Kim bagged her first title in the CNMI Women’s Golf Association’s 2024 season by shooting a net score of 73 in the February tournament at the Kingfisher Golf Links on Saturday.
Kim showcased consistency and skill as she cleared the fairway with great placement and a soft touch on the green to close the front nine with a gross of 40 or three strokes ahead of the competition.
Her odds only improved on the back nine as Kim tweaked her downswing to end with a gross of 39 for a total gross score of 79. Despite a handicap of 6 only, her net score of 73 was enough to secure first place.
Flor Jones also ended the day with the same net score, but she was outperformed by Kim in the scorecard playoff.
Jones, who settled for second place, shot a gross of 43 on the front nine and 44 on the back for a total gross score of 87, which was reduced by her 14 handicap to 73.
Coming in third was Eun Ae Chang, who shot 46 on the front and back nines for a total gross score of 92. Thanks to a handicap of 17, her net score was 75.
