Saints, Celtics, Sixers win on Veterans’ Day

Luizi Reyes scored 16 of his 25 points to help the Saints bury the Young Rollers with 11 points in the first half.

Savali Talalemoto attacked the Saints inside and sank 14 of his 25 points in an attempt to keep pace in this period.

Despite their already distant lead, the Saints put up a stiff defense. However, dribbling errors and acrobatic shots that sent the ball out bound foiled their repeated attempts to widen the gap.

Talalemoto sizzled with nine more points and John Norita added 14 of his 16 points to cut the lead to two points halfway to the ball game.

Paul Mariano was in the right spot when Norita missed the jump shot. He grabbed the rebound and tied the game, 59-59 with a follow up shot.

With one minute left to end of the second half, both teams erred in ball possessions. Talalemoto missed what could have been the winning shot as the time dwindled down to 30 seconds.

The Saints as well missed the chance to win the game after Leo Galarse lost the ball out of bound forcing the game into five-minute over time.

Talalemoto’s lay up handed the Young Rollers the two-point lead but Luizi Reyes was quick to tie it again by completing a fast break from Galarse.

Reyes fired another two-pointer to take the lead back. Ben Iglesias and Tudela pulled the Saints farther away then, Reyes hit the shot a couple of second to the final buzzer.

Celtics 44, Rollers 36

Tim Taguchi and Seas Sablan led the Celtics move on with their winning ways as they carried the team together to beat the Rollers, 44-36.

Taguchi charged the hoops from the left and did it again and again to set the lead in the first half.

Sablan also poured a series of two-pointers and tallied eight points and James Webb chipped in 10 points to help the Celtics stretch the game.

The Celtics put clamps on the Rollers offense in the second half curbing Heartim Williams’ score to 12 points.

Richard Wang rampaged with seven of his 16 points to keep the Rollers pace with the Celtics in the last few minutes of the game but Taguchi kept the surge to secure their win.

Sixers  66, 670 Rollers 51

Joe Ada scored 13 of his 20 points in the first half as he led the Sixers to beat the 670 Rollers, 66-51.

Matthew Duenas contributed 10 points and Ian Benavente invested in free throws to help the Sixers keep their strong lead in the first half.

With Roxanne Duenas and Mark Manaluz behind them in the inside play, Nathan Flores and Ernest Duenas helped Ada power up the team and the Sixers never looked back.
