Saipan All Stars Senior League wins District Tournament

Saipan All Stars will now represent NMI to the Asia-Pacific Regional Baseball Tournament that will be participated in by Guam, Philippines, Hongkong and Indonesia from June 25 to July 6 at the Francisco M.Palacios Baseball Field in Susupe.

Camacho who was among the three Little League Majors team members who made it to the World Series in 2004 swung a foul ball on his first bat then, sent the ball out of the park for the grand slam shutting out Rota in the first inning.

Juan Iguel who was among the Junior League All Stars who made it to the World Series in 2005, had 1-for-2, scored a hit by pitch and scored three runs.

Saipan All Stars did not score in the second and third inning until John Pangelinan doubled and went 1-for-2 to drive in a run in the fourth inning.

Vicente had a go-ahead base and ball and scored a run, Oferio Taitano got hit by a pitched, walked and scored two runs.

Nokki Saralu also hit by pitch, hit a triple, had 1-for-1 and scored a run.

John Maratitat had one RBI and went 1-for-1. John Paul Lizama got hit by pitch and scored a run. Anthony Rogolifoi had 1-for-2. Eric Tenorio scored a run and went 1-for-2 and got hit by a pitch.

Anthony Tenorio who hit two RBIs and scored a run was the starting pitcher giving up three strike outs and allowed three hits in two innings.

Tom Agulto continued in the third inning giving out two strike outs and allowed one hit.

Wally Emul Jr., pitched in the fourth inning and gave up two strike outs.

Josh Jones who closed the first game in the fifth inning giving up five strike outs, did the same the championship game giving up two strike outs.

Juan Iguel, Oferio Taitano, Anthony Rogolifoi and Anthony Tenorio are the returnees from the 2007 Asia Pacific Regional tournament.

Team manager, Derron G. Flores in an interview upon their arrival at 6 p.m,, last night said the team will continue practicing for the Asia-Pacific meet.
