Saipan Leg coordinator, Liz Palacios said this will be the second time the island is hosting the event.
To be held November 12 to 15, the event will participated by teams from Guam, Palau and Pohnpei.
Palacios said the hosting country this time will put in only one team to compete unlike in previous years when host country usually have two.
The first leg on Saipan will be held in June 13 and 14 on a first- come, first-play basis at the Capital Hill Softball Field.
She said the first 12 teams to sign in will be accepted to the tournament.
The entrance fee for this will be $150.
The second round of the tournament will be held on Aug. 1 and 2; the third round on Sept. 26 and 27; the consolation round on Oct. 3 and 4 and tournament of the champions or Saipan Leg, will be on Oct. 17 and 18.
The winner of Saipan Leg will represent the island in the championship game in November.
Last year’s champion was Palau which hosted the championship.
Palacios also announced that there will be a meeting at the Garapan Beach (behind McDonald’s restaurant) at 5:30 p.m.
All entrance fee and waivers will be submitted in that meeting.
In order to qualify for the tournament of champions—Saipan Leg, teams should be first place in Round 1 or 2 or 3 and have participated and played in two of the three rounds.
