Mobil pulled away on a six-point lead in the third quarter but crumbled on steady shooting from Elgin Mangali and Rolly Paraiso. Both scored a combined nine points in the fourth quarter while Tom Santos and Manolo Manalo earned four each.
Paraiso led Satbahi on 17 points while Darwin Barbo scored 12. Another double-digit shooter – Marlon Dedios – racked 11 points with 11 rebounds, three steals, and one assist.
One point ahead, Mobil took the lead in the final 50 seconds and called a time out.
Soon after, Satbahi’s Glen Aquino took possession on Jun Estolas’ missed jump shot but was fouled in the process. Aquino earned two points on free throws while Manalo shot two layups to bury Mobil.
Satbahi’s solid defense allowed Estolas only five points in the first half and two in the third quarter.
He was three points away from overtime but couldn’t find an opening for the basket. Pressured, he had no choice but to pass to Gil Gapor, who failed to shoot.
Gyles Ruluked posted one steal, two assists, one block, and nine rebounds for Mobil. Estolas garnered three steals, four assists, and three rebounds.
Aquino and teammate Tom Santos garnered 10 and seven points, respectively.
Team Satbahi now holds four wins and two losses.
