SBA summer/fall season underway

The SBA conducted a captain’s meeting last Sunday, discussing the rules for the upcoming summer/fall 2010 season and the Budweiser Cup. Due to conflicting schedules, only four team captains were able to make it to the meeting, but Ellama stated that there may be up to 12 teams signing up for the season.

According to Ellama, there have been no major changes with the SBA’s regulations.

A maximum of eight players or minimum of five, may sign up to each team. An entry fee of $25 is charged for each player, and it is highly recommended that teams pay their dues before their competition date.

Players who have not paid their dues, also known as illegal players, will be warned and will forfeit their wins as a first offense.

During the Budweiser Cup, which follows the regular season, a predetermined bracket will be followed based on the regular season’s ranking. Like the winter/spring season, teams will be divided again into two divisions – the Agingan and Obyan.

Payments must be made by Saturday, August 21 and games will commence on August 24. Raffle tickets are also available during every game.
