SCS beat Koblerville Elementary School, 3-1 in the boys division, while the Koblerville girls suffered worse when the Dandan girls pounded them with three goals in a shoot-out after the over time game ended in 1-1 deadlock.
Joel Jang scored the first goal, during boys’ game with right foot kick 12 yards from the right field in the 14th minute of the first half.
The second half raged on when Koblerville’s Frederick Encalvo secured the ball with header then, charged the goal to tie the game in the beginning of the second half.
William Fong demonstrated a great dribbling as he beat three defenders on his way along the right field. Then he saw team captain Jehn Joyner running-in from the left field.
A perfect pass in the 10th minute of the second half gave Joyner the chance to take the lead again.
The SCS boys who pounded the Dandan boys, 3-0 and defeated Saipan International School with a lone goal in the semifinal rounds, kept the surge against the Koblerville Boys and defended their territory like marines.
Joyner fired another shot and the SCS boys protected their lead towards the final whistle for their 3-1 victory.
In the girls, team captain Ayana Ongelungel received a long distance pass from Melissa Lizama then, dribbled along the left field to take the lead.
Sonia Isaac however, brought the hope back by tying the ball game in the second half.
Both teams defended their territories during the overtime game that led to a shoot-out.
Jenalyn Bowie, Melissa Lizama and Ayana Ongelungel beat Koblerville’s goalie to claim their 4-1 victory.
