SAIPAN International School remains at the top of the food chain with a total of 12 points after defeating Kagman High School, 7-4,  in the girls high school division of the NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic Soccer League SY23-24 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

At the start of the game, SIS quickly took control of the ball and worked their way up to the field with precision passes. Slithering past defenders, her SIS teammates spotted Audrey Castro at the frontline where she found the back of the net to gain the early lead, 1-0.

KHS adjusted their defensive strategy accordingly and were eventually rewarded for their efforts with a goal by Pia Ngewakl at the 14th minute mark.

However, SIS’ Aubrey Castro returned the favor a minute later to maintain control going into halftime, 2-1.

In the second half of the match,  SIS continued to play aggressively. The pressure proved to be too much for KHS to handle as SIS’ Audrey Castro scored at the 27th and Serin Chung at the 30th and 32nd minute marks to extend the deficit, 5-1.

KHS managed to flip the script when Ngewakl netted a goal at the 33rd and 44th minute marks while teammate Hailey Benavente delivered at the 41st. However, SIS erased all hopes of a KHS comeback when Chung and Audrey each earned a hat-trick with their third goals at the 49th and 50th minute marks to secure the win, 7-4.
