Tied at 91-91, Sison was under severe time pressure before making the Island Apparels’ winning shot. Bayani defenders scrambled to his position – before they could do anything, Sison sent a jumper in the basket, sending his team cheering around the court.
Thanks to quick passes and lay ups from Rolly Paraiso and Jomar Tengco, the Island Apparels easily topped the Bayanis by 21-13 during the first quarter.
The Bayanis slowly caught up during the second and third quarter, with Jeff and Lerio Pagarao shooting their own sets of two-pointers.
While Tengco was on the bench, Manny Matagolai led the Apparels’ offensive. Matagolai had difficulty landing his three-pointers early in the game. His efforts paid off in the third quarter, when he shot two baskets behind the three-point line.
Lerio Pagarao eventually earned the highest score by the end of the game, racking up a total of 31 points. Matagolai came next with 27 points.
Sison secured the Apparels’ victory after making one final free throw.
