SOUTHERN United and Kanoa 1 football clubs each collected their eighth victory in the U14 girls division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2023 on Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
SUFC dominated Kanoa Football Club 2, 21-4, while Kanoa 1 defeated the Paire Football Club, 4-1.
In their match against Kanoa 2 SUFC managed to set the tone early in the opening half by scoring eight goals.
Rosie Saralu drew the first blood within the first minute. Kanoa 2 tried to kill the momentum, thanks to a solo goal by Malai Mafnas, but SUFC’s Selena Atalig and Precious Castro took over the spotlight as both delivered three goals each. Teammate Jadine Higgins then joined the onslaught with her first goal before the halftime mark to give SUFC a comfortable 8-1 lead.
Although Kanoa 2 picked up the pace in the second half, SUFC’s continuous pressure resulted in 13 more goals en route to a blowout victory, 21-4.
Kanoa 1 vs Paire

Facing an inevitable loss, Paire still gave it their all with Windsor Gross scoring a goal as they went down fighting, 1-4.
