Meeting for softball tournament
There will be a meeting tomorrow, 6 p.m. at the pavilion across JP Center Building for managers and coaches participating in Uab Softball Club’s Masters Co-ed Softball Tournament.
The tournament will be played at Dandan Softball Field from October 23 to 24. Entry fee is $100 and proceeds will help the USC’s trip to Palau for the upcoming Goodwill Tournament.

Baseball clinic continues
The youth baseball clinic, which took a two week break due to the government shutdown, will resume this Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. The clinic offers opportunities for young ballplayers to improve their skills through a variety of drills.
Batting drills, such as the correct way of gripping the bat, plate coverage, striding, swing pattern, and hip turn will be covered along with baserunning drills, proper footwork for infielders and outfielders on grounders, double play coverage, cutoffs and relays, catchers drills, and pitchers drills.
All interested players or coaches are invited to attend. The program will run through the month of October and hopefully November, if the field is available. The baseball clinic is open to players 18 years old or younger. Players are asked to bring their baseball gear and come in their baseball attire.
