On Aug. 16, LJ Flemming caught a mamulan or giant trevally that spanned 34 inches while Sinj Lee’s catch was 24.5 inches long.
On Aug. 29, utilizing the art of deep bottom fishing, Joey Tudela reeled in a 40-inch kapole, also known as a black jack. This catch placed fourth.

Logan Mister, using spearfishing techniques, which were used to clinch first and second places in this tournament, hauled in a bluefin trevally with a total length of 37.2 inches.
Mii Tekopua Lin claimed second place with his 46-inch mamulan that he caught on Aug. 13. His spearfishing technique allowed him to catch another giant trevally on Aug. 29, and this time the fish was 44.7 inches long. Although this catch was for the record only — only one fish counted per fisherman — it was memorable, nonetheless.
