Storms spike to win

The Storms easily won their first set with 25-15, spiking their way to easy points. The Storms conquered their opponents with their sharp overhand serves in the beginning of the game. The Sharks had difficulty returning the ball, missing on several attacks.

The CCA Sharks quickly recuperated after their first loss, focusing on their offensive by the second set. Deadlocks resulted at first, with both teams performing evenly on the court. The Sharks easily earned points near the end, after a couple failed serves from their opponents. The game nearly came to a halt at 23-23 after sudden rain kicked in, but all players were determined to finish their match.

The Storms experienced a minor setback after losing to the Sharks in their second set, but quickly won by 15-12 in the third set. The Storms took advantage of their shark spikes, which seemed too quick for their adversaries.

MBA’s junior varsity players also dominated the Sharks in their earlier sets of games. Calvary drew first blood in the first set, winning by 25-19. They were defeated in their next two sets however, losing by 16-25 in their second game and 14-16 in their third game.

The Coalition of Private Schools Sports Association has two junior varsity games lined up for tomorrow. Saipan Community School will be facing Seventh Day Adventist at SDA’s court, while Saipan International School (Team B) will be challenging Whispering Palms School at SIS’ court..
