Strikers to face Japanese team this Monday

The visiting team is composed of college students and players from Keio University’s soccer club and this team going up against the Strikers will have a 23 player roster.

Keio University is a comprehensive academic enterprise with five major campuses in Japan the Mita Campus, the Hiyoshi Campus, the Yagami Campus, the Shinanomachi Campus, the Shonan Fujisawa Campus, and the Shiba-Kyoritsu campus, along with a number of affiliated academic institutions on or near these campuses. In addition, Keio University also operates a high school in New York.

Since its inception, Keio has continued to pursue Yukichi Fukuzawa’s spirit of jitsugaku, which holds that one should not just acquire information from book learning, but should learn from real-life experiences in order to apply viable solutions to actual problems. Keio continues to pursue “jitsugaku” today, fostering forward-looking thinkers at its five major campuses.

“We are very fortunate to have our Men’s National Team compete with a high-caliber team, such as Keio University Soccer Club. This is a great opportunity and experience for our team.” said Mr. Ed Salas.

The visitors will arrive on Saipan this Sunday and the competition will kick off at the Oleai Complex at 6pm this Monday, December 6th, 2010.

Players for the CNMI team in next week’s exhibition game are taken from the competing teams in the 2010 NMIFA Men’s Football Fall Cup.

The game will take at least an hour with two quarters for the entire game worth thirty minutes a half and a five minute break in between.

Player substitution is unlimited, however, once substituted; a player cannot reenter the match. Coach Seki intends to utilize all the CNMI players that have been practicing the last couple of weeks.
