Taga Warriors prevail, hand Bank of Saipan 3rd straight loss

with 4-1 standing as they handed Bank of Saipan its third straight loss during the Masters Division game of the FMI First Inter-color Basketball Tournament at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym last Friday.

Delos Reyes scored 14 of his 37 points as he picked up fouls and had 6-for-7 in the third quarter and fired a three-pointer in the decisive run of the final quarter to keep the wide distance from Bank of Saipan, 101-77.

Elmer Pineda who built a strong lead as he scored 10 points in the first quarter, backed Delos Reyes up during in the entire second half finishing the game with 26 points.

Jessie Nicdao hit 13 markers and Danny Bicera added 12 points.

Taga Warriors now lead the Master Division with GEC 40+ which has yet to show its might this week comes second.

SMF Seabridge 104,

MIGS, 94

   In the succeeding game, SMF Seabridge crept back to 2-3 standing as they sent MIGS to its seven-game losing streak, 104-94.

The fourth quarter was showdown between James Villacrusis and Jun Tabora who both scored 12 points.

Villacrusis who missed all his four free throws in the third quarter geared up in the final quarter and hit two three-pointers during the decisive run.

K. Bernardo established an early lead scoring 12 of his 29 points in the first quarter.

Leo Itaas added 19 points and Ruther Demigilio added 10 points.
