The registrations fees are as follows: Saipan Tagaman Triathlon is $120.00, Saipan Tagaman Triathlon Team is at $150.00, and last but not least is XTERRA Tagaman Double Individual at $200.00.
The 2011 Saipan Tagaman Championship competition is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and all participants must either be current license holders or purchase a one-day license which is $10.
Participants will not be given the participant packet or be allowed to compete without showing the board members a USA TRI license and picture ID or purchasing a one day license at registration.
Transition will open at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning to place gears and bicycles for the race. Athletes check in and numbering will take place at the finish line starting at 5:00 a.m.
Participants must have identification to take bike/gear out of the transition area. Participants must show their body marked number or run number or give it to a friend or family member to claim bikes for them if the participant is unavailable to pick it up themselves.
The swim portion of the competition is set at 2000 meters followed by the Road Bike portion of 60 kilometers, and last but not least is the Road Run distanced at 15 kilometers.
The organization would like to remind the participants and supporters to wear plenty of sunscreen. Hydration is not optional. Take plenty of fluids on the race course. Do not skimp because it is better to stop and take a drink than to suffer from dehydration and a trip to Saipan’s Commonwealth Health Center.
The results will be posted on the notice board in the finish area as soon as they are available. Personal results can be picked up at the finish line.
With over 90 competitors and over 15 groups grueling and tackling the race down from the previous 2010 Tagaman Championship competition, the organization and the committees would like to see more compete in the upcoming 2011 race.
With over 15 competitors representing Saipan, including our very own Tyce Mister, Matthew Mancao, Ronald Villafria and more, more participants are highly encouraged to join.
The Pacific Islands Club will be the host headquarters for the 2011 XTERRA Saipan and Tagaman Championship competitions.
