Tinian dominates elementary softball throw

TINIAN Elementary School dominated the softball throw event, elementary division of the PSS-McDonald’s All School Track & Field (Athletics) SY23-24 at the Oleai Sports Complex on Saturday.

Tinian’s athletes reigned supreme in both the U9 boys and girls divisions.

Tinian’s Vicente Cruz led the U9 boys group. His first attempt was his best as he covered 31.61m while his second attempt reached 31.48m. For his third and final attempt, he recorded 28.96m.

In second place was Koblerville Elementary School’s Lellan Daniel with his best of three attempts recording a distance of 27.99m followed by Tinian’s Joedric Torres with 27.4m, Tinian’s Xiang Huang with 26.96m, and San Vicente Elementary School’s Raynold Saka with 26.46m.

In the U9 girls division, Tinian’s streak was extended thanks to the stellar performance of Jaoquina Aldan. Although her first attempt was a scratch, she recovered with her best throw of 17.51m followed by her third attempt of 14.52m.

Following behind were SVES’ Aria Tupas with a distance of 16.8m, Tinian’s Sesa San Nicolas with 16.34m, Oleai Elementary School’s Mitchiko Laniyo with 15.99m, and OES’ Hannah Neyoaraen with 13.9m.

Tinian also shined in the U12 boys age group as Joaquin Adriano led the competition with a distance of 44.25m while teammates Manuel Cruz and Francisco Moses recorded 39.09m and 38.96m, respectively. SVES’ Jake Ogo was in fourth place with 31.79m while OES’ Jeno Pino came in fifth with 31.19m.

Tinian’s win streak was finally broken in the U12 girls age group as KoES took over. Lei Pebley displayed her strength by covering a distance of 29.14m and was followed by teammate Baylyn Mansfield with 28.53m. Tinian’s Kailana King was third with 25.33m, Tinian’s Audreanna Barcinas was fourth with 23.86m, and OES’ Kimora Peter was fifth with 22.61m.
