UBA to raise funds for NMI hoops team

UBA president James Lee who is also a member of the NMI team said the one-day tournament will give the other basketball enthusiasts on the island the chance to measure themselves up to NMI’s best.

Interested players can form a team and challenge the NMI national team for $50 fee. The team who beats the national squad will get $250 in prize.

As the NMI athletes gear for the Micro Games that will be held in August, Lee said they need to continue flexing their muscle up in, so they have keep competing.

“We definitely need to keep on competing,” Lee said, adding that he also finds it fun to give other basketball enthusiasts the chance to experience playing with the national team and at the same time help them out for the trip.

The fundraising event, he said will first come first serve basis.
