UEFA licensed coach holds clinic

White, a former technical director and head coach of the national football teams in the Virgin Islands and Bahamas, was invited by the Guam Football Association before visiting Saipan.

The clinic was a “golden opportunity for the Northern Marianas Islands Football Association and its coaches to receive first hand quality instructions from a FIFA national team coach,” said NMIFA General Secretary Edward Salas.

27 local coaches and 10 of the 15-and-under CNMI National Team’s players were present on Friday. The clinic lasted from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

White, a native of Southampton, England, has 10 years of FIFA international coaching under his belt and is one of the youngest national team coaches in FIFA history.

In October this year, he was hand selected as one of 16 coaches globally by The Football Association — the sport’s governing body in England. White is currently the technical director for Washington Youth Soccer in the United States.

He was accompanied by GFA Executive/Technical Director Cheri Stewart last week.
