UFO is back

In the first game of the night since its postponement, Wings Travel was pegged against team MAFEA. In the first quarter of the game Wings Travel’s Ed Yalon was fouled and given two shots. He successfully managed to bucket both shots in taking the first 2 points of the game home. Teammate San Fernandez contributed 6 point of his own. Wins Travel’s Dante Olivos and Roger Valencia score 9 points together grabbing an early 3 point lead over team MAFEA at the bottom of the first quarter.

That did not daunt team MAFEA instead MAFEA’s William Opone, Ernie Moises, and Bobby Vargas fight fiercely bucketing 14 points together with a clean record of no free throw shots; stealing the lead from Wings Travel by one point at the end of the second quarter.

During the start of the third quarter, Wings Travel’s Bruce Berlin and Junar Guiab score 7 points a piece working hand in hand with teammate Ed Yalon who helped with 4 points of his own grabbing the lead once again from team MAFEA widening the gap to 8 points by the bottom of third quarter.

With the last quarter unraveling, both teams give it their best efforts. Team MAFEA’s Francis Rebuyon scored 8 points all by himself while teammate Ernie Moises scored 9 points to help close the gap. But those efforts were no match for Wings Travel’s Junar Guiab and Sam Fernandez who work together to score 6 points each working with teammates Dante Olivos, Bruce Berlin, and Ed Yalon to secure a 6 point lead over team MAFEA.

In the back to back game of the league team MDX Chow Queen dominated over team Bartender’s Association 103-81. Since the last UFO game MDX Chow Queen beat their opponents the CNMI National Team as their guest competitors.

In the first quarter of the game, Chow Queen’s Wowie Abuel scored 8 points all by himself working with teammate Glen Aquino who scored 5 point of his own unfortunately missing his second free throw shot. Team Bartender’s Manuel Matagolia scored 10 points working with teammate Robert Guiang who bucketed 5 points to grab an early 2 point lead from Chow Queen at the bottom of the quarter.

In the second quarter Chow Queen’s Dave Sablan comes back with a sour taste of defeat bucketing 13 points of his own along with the rest of his teammates to snatch the lead and the widen the gap over the Bartender’s Association by 14 points.

As the third quarter was unleashed Bartender’s Manuel Matagolai and Rolly Paraiso work together bucketing 8 points a piece in a heroic attempt to seal the gap. But Chow Queen’s Kae Bernardo fired 9 points of his own working with Wowie Abuel who contributed 10 points of his own to widen the gap farther by 30 points, 86-56.

In the last quarter of the game fatigue got the better part of Bartender’s Association and Chow Queen took mighty advantage of this. Dave Sablan fired 13 points to secure a 30 point lead winning the game.
