Byron Kaipat led the Wassups with a home run at the top of the second, followed by two more runs from Oliver Secharmidal and Kyle Kaipat. John Terlaje hit a single and reached home plate at the third inning, scoring the Wassups’ fourth run. Kaipat wasn’t so lucky on his second try, after hitting a fly ball caught by Asahi’s short stop Kevin Kapileo. Jerome Delos Santos, whose second fly ball caught by Ben Taisacan, met the same fate.
June Kaipat walked at the top of the fifth before landing Wassup’s sixth run. Maratita and Marvin Kaipat added one run apiece.
Despite their hits, the Asahis ended inning after inning with fly balls caught by Kaipat.
Peleliu 17, A Uel A Uel 12
The Island Apparel Pelelius piled 17 runs to outscore A Uel A Uel in another game.
The Pelelius – winning 17-12 – drew three quick outs at the top of the first inning, but returned with two runs at the second.
Second baseman Ota Nobiyashi hit a single, was pushed by Tom Joab to second base, and returned home to score A Uel A Uel’s first run.
Team Peleliu had no luck at the top of the third, giving their foes time to recover.
Consecutive errors helped Max Kadiasang, Marlon Reyes, and BJ Babauta slip three runs to give A Uel A Uel a 2-4 lead.
The Pelelius fought back, ending the top of the fourth with eight runs.
Steven Igisaiar and Dante Sablan struck singles to advance to the scoring position, and boosted A Uel A Uel by two runs. Reyes helped with a home run.
The Pelelius still led by the end of the frame, scoring three runs at the top of the fifth and four more at the sixth.
Peleliu’s catcher Jake Koshiba went 3-for-4 with three runs, two singles and one double. Mabel Ngirnge also went 3-for-4 with three runs and three singles.
Hilitai 8, Haga T 7
All the Ngetpang Hilitais needed was Richard Dela Cruz’s home run to beat team Haga T.
Dela Cruz scored his second run of the day to give his team an 8-7 win at the bottom of the seventh inning.
Haga T’s Jordan Ogo hit a single to drive Anson Jones, Nathan, and Daniel Ogo home at the top of the second.
With their foes scoring no runs at the top of the third, the Hilitais closed the frame with five runs to take a 6-3 lead.
Haga T had no luck at the fourth inning, but caught up with four runs from Jino Takai, Jordan and Shawn Ogo, and Eric Tudela.
Hilitai’s Highnes Asanuma advanced to first base via fielder’s choice and returned home to tie the game, 7-7 at the bottom of the sixth.
In other games, team Go 4 Broke fell to AJ Falcons, 11-9. Team Red Torch burned through the Dial Rent To Own K-Angels, 4-3. The Koror Tigers handed TKK2 its first loss with an 8-7 win.
