WU suffers first loss in 2OT

Missing a layup to win in regulation then putting a three point dagger by Erwin Andaya at the first overtime to tie the game at 80 – 80, the Ilocandia – Bulls then went to their key players at the second extra period to finally drub Western Union with a final tally of 99 – 92.

Stella performances by Ronald Osias and Dennis Castro who contributed with 31 and 24 respectively for the Bulls who gave WU their first loss this season without their number one scoring machine, Jun Bautista. On the other hand, Erwin Senadre and Emmerson Patena chipped in 18 and 17 for team Western but were not able to get much needed help from their team mates on the second overtime that resulted a loss.

On other matches that Sunday, HANPA – Cardinals surrendered to the clutches of Surangel with a score of 98 – 90 courtesy of Pramo and Arnold Undecmo’s stellar performances who put up 26 a piece while PDC Rams could not find any answer when team Guardians put up an impressive team game that gave them a win with a score of 85 – 69. Then on the third game, Ranger’s Niko Hinosa and Louie Hinosa who plays guard spot, scored 25 and 14 respectively to crush team Royal Cargo with final tally of 86 – 52.

Three Games are played every Sunday afternoon in which the first game starts at exactly 11:00 p.m. The 2009 Filipino Basketball League is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation and is sponsored by CTSI-Logistics, J.Trading/ATT, Surangel and Sons, Ilocandia Association, Western Union, Royal Cargo, Guardians, HANPA, and AQUA Water.
